From Uncertainty To Clarity

Helping high-achieving mid-career professionals navigate through career crossroads to find freedom, purpose, and control.

Take back the control you need to live your dream life on your terms!

Dear OVERWORKED and UNFULFILLED high-achiever,

You’re so over it.

You’re done with:

  • Being overlooked and getting passed over for promotion (but deep down inside…you know you DESERVED it more than ANYONE else!)
  • Feeling envious when someone else gets an opportunity that you would die for (thinking…HELLO?! Anyone remember me?! The one who went the extra mile on everything!)
  • Chasing a promotion because you don’t know what else to strive for but you don’t actually want it and the additional stress and responsibility it would bring (your bandwidth is already stretched to the limit so how could you possibly take on more!)
  • Falling behind what’s expected of you and the life milestones that others seem to hit so easily (and not to mention just downright disappointing!)

Oh boy, let’s break this down even further, shall we?

It feels like you’re running in a race where the finish line keeps moving further away.

You’re working super hard every day, but it feels like no one notices. It’s like doing a bunch of homework and not getting any gold stars.

When there’s nowhere to grow at work, it feels like you’re in a video game where you’re stuck on the same level and can’t level up or learn new moves.

And then you start wondering, “What am I even doing here?”

What’s more?

You find yourself helping everyone else and not taking care of yourself, whether that’s forgetting to exercise, stress eating and drinking, or not hanging out with friends and family as much as you’d like.

Sometimes you think about hitting the reset button like wanting to take a big break (a sabbatical sounds refreshing, right?) or starting a new career path but you’re afraid to lose the progress you’ve made so far.

Now, imagine:

  • You’re meant for a job that’s as exciting as going on an adventure, not just sitting around waiting for something interesting to happen.
  • Having a magic compass that shows you the perfect job for you and makes you TOTALLY SURE you’re doing the right thing.
  • Finding out what you’re really meant to do, tossing aside what everyone else thinks, and stopping those “what if” doubts.
  • Waking up every morning super excited to work, knowing it’s not just about the money but also about having fun and making a difference, and then being able to spend quality time with friends and family.

It’s like you’re finally beating the big boss monster in your career game and finally leveling up to the most thrilling chapter of your adventure yet. How awesome would that be?

Hey, I’m Alice Yeh!

I help high-achieving mid-career professionals like you to transition from feeling stuck in unsatisfying careers dreading Mondays to finding the excitement and freedom you desire by no longer settling and playing it safe.

I understand how it feels to lose your sense of self and control over your life.

I had ticked all the boxes of what one was supposed to do: get good grades, go to a good school (Princeton undergrad and Wharton MBA), and get a good job (at Fortune 500 companies like J.P. Morgan and Google).

But like you, I was frustrated because despite how successful I looked on paper, I still felt like something was missing from my life.

I didn’t want to repeat the unsatisfying career cycle, so I was stuck and unsure what to do next.

But I did find clarity! I figured out my purpose by identifying what brings me meaning and where I could make an impact.

Then I made sure it was aligned with my values, strengths, and priorities. I also got my head in the game to get comfortable with taking calculated risks and becoming resilient. This mindset helped me overcome the uncertainty to take back the control I needed to design and live the life I wanted on my terms.

My job as your coach:

  • Help you uncover the career insights you need, act as your sounding board for new ideas, and push you beyond familiar limits
  • Tackle any fears of stepping out of your comfort zone while providing you the nudge and support you need to explore new career possibilities
  • Refine and challenge your thoughts and beliefs, creating a coaching experience that’s custom-fit to foster your growth and clarity

“I started working with Alice a couple of months following a layoff from a job that I was dedicated to but that also, after 3 years of excessive stress and consistent 80+-hour workweeks, was taking a notable toll on my physical and mental health, as well as my relationships. Alice saw right away that I needed something bigger than just finding my next job.

I came to Alice looking for support and a new career direction. What I got was infinitely more valuable: a path toward healthy holistic life balance, a sense of a larger purpose that includes but is not limited to my career, and a mindset that I can continue to trust in the future as I chart my unique course through life.” ~Elizabeth G

FAQ

+ What is coaching?

Coaching is a form of personal development and support to help clients navigate through challenges and achieve their personal and professional goals. Coaches act as guides to help empower clients to make positive changes in their lives, overcome obstacles, and maximize their potential. A coach can help you set goals, develop a plan for achieving that goal, and provide motivation and accountability to keep you on track. Through the coaching process, coaches often help clients gain self-awareness, clarify their values, and better understand their strengths and weaknesses.

+ What is not coaching? How does coaching differ from therapy, mentoring, or consulting?

Coaching is often confused with other modalities that exist like therapy, mentoring, and consulting. Therapists are medically trained professionals, who are equipped to diagnose and treat your mental health needs. Therapists help you unpack and dig into why you have certain psychological and emotional patterns, possibly due to a past trauma. Coaches, on the other hand, will help you acknowledge this pattern exists but then focus on figuring out what to do and how to move forward. Note that anyone can call themselves a coach but not every coach is certified.

A mentor is someone who has already walked the path you want to walk. They can provide insight into their successes and failures to help you learn from their experiences. A consultant is an expert in their field with specialized knowledge. Both mentors and consultants can provide advice, recommendations, and tips that a coach wouldn’t. Instead, a coach will work with you side-by-side as a partner to help you uncover those answers that are already within you because you know yourself best. Only you are the expert on yourself!

+ Who is this for?

This is for you if you’re ready to do the work but aren’t clear on exactly what that is or how to start. You’re interested in personal development and self-improvement. You know it’s an iterative process to create the next evolved version of yourself. You’re ready to face your fears and dig deep into your thoughts and feelings.

+ Who is this NOT for?

This is not for you if you’re not ready to make yourself a priority for at least 1 hour a week. You don’t feel like you should change but that others should. You blame others for your situation and you’re not willing to change your situation, take risks, nor push yourself out of your comfort zone.

This is also not for you if you’re looking for a quick fix or instant solution. Change doesn’t happen overnight. Sustainable growth and development often require time, patience, and consistent effort.

+ How do I know this is going to work for me? I’ve tried everything.

If you think you have tried everything, it sounds like those other things have not really gotten down to the root of understanding your purpose and what is holding you back. Many other coaching programs focus on the “how” like how to conduct a job search but you already know how to do that. This is a strategic approach to equip you with the clarity, confidence and decision-making framework you need. Because if you don’t have clarity on your purpose, then you don’t know what to search for and you’re going to be stuck in this neverending loop of trying things out hoping they work, and wasting more time.

+ What if I don’t have the time? I’m so busy. How much time commitment is needed?

Let me ask what made you seek me out? Why did you start looking into coaching? Do you have the time to keep wasting NOT figuring it out? It’s easy to come up with an excuse to wait until xyz happens but something will always come up. There is no perfect time – you just have to decide that you want the change badly enough and that you want to go for it. Your brain is going to tell you it’s scary and you’re not ready. We’ll work together to help counteract your brain.

Do you have at least one hour a week to dedicate to working on yourself? We will spend one hour in each weekly session over 2 months. I’m sure you can find the time to spend one less hour scrolling through social media or watching Netflix during the week.

+ What are some possible outcomes from working with a career coach?

Ultimately, the end goal or outcome depends on what you want and we can work together to define that goal once you find clarity. But here are some outcomes that my clients have decided on after working together:

  • Pivot to new career path
  • Take a sabbatical break
  • Start an entrepreneurial side hustle
  • Stay in current job and find fulfillment elsewhere
  • Ask for promotion or clear career progression in current role
+ What should I expect at the end of the coaching program?

You will have the clarity you need to figure out what your next step should be so that you can no longer feel stuck.

+ What sets Alice apart from other coaches?

I’ve accrued 14 years of corporate experience building relationships and resourcefully solving analytical problems within Finance, Big Tech, and early/late stage startups. I’ve been in your shoes so I know exactly what you’re feeling and going through.

I’ve also taken calculated risks and made changes to my life in order to align them with my purpose and aspirations:

  • I’ve been laid off 3 times and used each one as an opportunity to pivot and reinvent myself in a meaningful career change
  • I spent 4 years working and living as an expat abroad in Hong Kong, London, and Singapore where I learned to start over every time I moved and became resilient
  • I took a yearlong sabbatical even though people said it was a bad idea to have a gap on your resume and this turned out to be one of the most fulfilling years of my life because I pursued personal passions like traveling, learning Spanish, horseback riding, yoga teacher training, and Reiki certification
+ What are your values Alice?

My biggest core value in life is CURIOSITY which fuels my sense of adventure and hunger for growth and learning. I am passionate about coaching because I want to be the catalyst for change and help high-achievers find the FREEDOM they desire to transition from unsatisfying careers to a healthy, holistic life filled with excitement, balance, purpose, and passion. My mission is to make an IMPACT in the world by empowering the people I serve to stop settling, break free from expectations, let go of perfectionism, and take calculated risks.

First, book a Vision Call with me so we can see if this is the right fit for both of us. During this call, we will also discuss what’s currently working and what you’re struggling with in your current career. We will also outline a personalized plan to help you define your life and career vision.

Then during the 8-session coaching program, we will focus on the 3 pillars of purpose, alignment, and mindset to bring clarity to your life and career vision. By the end of the program, you will have the clarity you need to identify your action plan so that you can get out of the uncertainty and be on the right career path for YOU.

+ What happens during a coaching session?

Leveraging positive psychology, I will focus on guiding you to uncover your strengths, passions, core values, challenges, and desired outcomes. I actively listen with empathy and provide a calming presence during our sessions.

With my empathetic, insightful, and exploratory approach, I will guide you to define your life vision, strengths, values, and beliefs so you can get clear on your next steps for personal and professional growth to drive the change you seek in order to stop feeling like you’re falling behind others and not living up to your potential.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for you to be vulnerable and authentic so that you can talk and think through things out loud. I believe that you do not need to be fixed. The answers are already within you and you just need help uncovering them to find clarity.

+ How do you handle confidentiality?

The coaching relationship and all information (documented or verbal) that you share with me will be considered confidential where I will not share this information without your consent. As a part of my training and certification, I abide by the Global Code of Ethics for Coaches and Mentors from the Association for Coaching.

However, please be aware that the Coach-Client relationship is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like the medical and legal professions) so the communications are not subject to the protection of any legally recognized privilege.

“Before working with Alice, I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted in my next professional role and wanted to make the best use of upcoming downtime for self-exploration and growth. We used a few different exercises to get a clear understanding of what I felt was ‘missing’ in my life and then used follow-on sessions to brainstorm ways to make those a reality.

Throughout the process Alice helped keep me accountable and provided great input on everything from what questions to ask in my upcoming job interview to how to effectively take up a new hobby. Thanks to her preparation, my next career move was the perfect one for me and my family, and I finally managed to take up a hobby that had been on my ‘someday’ list for years.” ~Nicholas M
